Pharmacists

Our pharmacist team process all prescription requests and prescribing queries. Our clinical pharmacists are highly trained and carry out the majority of blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, cholesterol, asthma and COPD management, and support in other long term condition management as well as being able to diagnose and treat minor illnesses.

Our practice nurses provide many of the services required by patients including wound care, immunisations/vaccinations, injections, cervical screening and annual reviews of certain medical conditions. Depending on training, nurses can often manage chronic diseases alongside GPs and practice pharmacists.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) provide a large array of services depending on their training. This includes blood tests, blood pressure and weight monitoring, taking ECGs, 24 hour blood pressure monitor fitting, wound care, some vaccinations and annual reviews of some medical conditions.

Practice management deal with all the business aspects of general practice. This includes finance, human resources, premises, IT and much more. Management is responsible for the day to day running of the practice.

Administrators

Our administrators carry out a large variety of tasks depending on their role in the practice. This includes registration and deduction, scanning and workflow, e-mail management, non-NHS administrative service management, IT management, clinical coding and much more. The administration team also provides back office support to our reception team when required.

Care Co-ordinators (Reception Team)

The first point of contact for patients and their representatives, care co-ordinators provide basic information on services and direct you according to your query or medical need. Care co-ordinators are trained to collect information from patients to make an appropriate decision on when and where to book an appointment if required.

Other Allied Staff (ARRS)

ARRS staff are health professionals who are funded locally to provide part time specialist services to patients at general practice. These include a first contact practitioner (advanced physiotherapist), dietician, social prescribing link worker, heath and wellbeing coach, mental health practitioner and clinical pharmacists.
